The Naughty Bits Book Club: Sex & Samosas Edition

Join us for the first Venus Envy book club, when we'll be reading "Sex & Samosas" by local author Jasmine Aziz! The books are available here at Venus Envy, and are 15% in-store off when you mention the book club.

We'll start with a discussion of the book, and then later be joined by the author for a Q&A!

About the book: Sometimes just accepting an invitation can be an act of bravery. Have you ever been to a sex party? It will change your life! Leena's traditional South Asian mother is constantly nagging her to lose weight and get pregnant, her husband of five years feels more like a roommate than a lover and she has the sinking feeling she's never had an orgasm. But other than that, life is fine. That is until she attends a sex party and is inspired by what she learns. Leena feels empowered, which sets in motion her journey of self-discovery and personal transformation - everything from using a vibrator for the first time to wearing a g-string and a provocative incident with a samosa that has even her husband rethinking oral sex! In trying to discover who she truly is, will Leena suffer the backlash of her community, and worse her own mother?

Accessibility Note: Venus Envy is located off a small parking lot where there's space for two vehicles. The front door is three feet wide with a small step, approximately 4 inches high. There's a portable ramp, please call ahead or tap on the door and we'll get it in place for you. The store itself is pretty wide open with aisles all more than 3 feet wide. There's a public bathroom that's quite small and not set up to be compatible to folks using wheelchairs.
