I started Fertility Awareness after reading "Taking charge of your fertility" (best book ever, by the way- check it out). I got a speculum to be able to actually see what was going on "down there", and its incredible actually. I use it mid-cycle, around ovulation, and can tell when I ovulate based on temperature shifts and cervical fluid (go read the book), but now with the speculum I can actually see my cervix open up just before I ovulate and then close the next day. This has been one of the most helpful tools I have ever gotten. Also it helps you to relaxe more during pap tests because you are use to the feeling of the speculum. I highly recommend it.
