The Depoliticizing of Queerness: a facilitated conversation

Sold out

You are welcomed to a facilitated conversation about the systemic and widespread depoliticization of queerness. This conversation aims to use larger concepts such as family, community, power, and access as a lens to examine questions such as:
-Who does your queerness reach? Why is this important or not?
-What does queerness look like to you? Is that part of yourself inherently political?
-Who/what designs and shapes queerness? How does this relate to the queering of aesthetics?
-Can queerness be appropriated?
-Is queerness being/ becoming/ already depoliticized?
-What does queer liberation look like to you?
This space was created and imagined to host and center queer brilliance, magic, and peer-to-peer learning. We are all experts of our own experiences. We are dedicated to holding the multifaceted parts of personal and political identities such as race, disability, class, and trauma and will work together to hold a space of learning, complexity, accountability, and care.
This event is PWYC (pay what you can, on the night of).
