How It Works

The Ripple can be used like anal beads, a plug, or like an in-and-out like a dildo. Both sizes are great for working up to wider penetration.

Ripple review

For all those who love the feeling of anal beads comes a brand new toy from Tantus. The ripple combines the best features of anal beads with the convenience of a dildo, and it comes in two sizes. This toy looks like a dildo made up of linked series of bulbs, each larger than the previous one. The small starts tiny, which is great for beginners, and works its way up to a bead just over an inch in diameter. The large version takes up where the small leaves off, and it gets very large indeed. The toys have the advantages of all silicone toys: they're non-porous, so they don't pick up bacteria and odor, and it's possible to sterilize silicone by boiling it or putting it through the dishwasher (top rack only!). Tristan Taormino, author of The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women, gave the ripple kudos in the current issue of On Our Backs magazine, so you know it must be good.

So many bumps. So much fun. The first bead is small enough so that the toy isn't intimidating, but the last bead is big enough so that there's something to work up to. I did find that once it was all the way in, there wasn't enough of a difference between the last bead and the base to keep the whole toy in place without using a hand. That would be nice. The bead design and the flexibility make it a great dildo though, and hurrah for that.

Ripple review

I bought the Small Ripple in black for the wife and I, and we both enjoy it. As long as you understand that this toy will not stay in by itself, there are hours of fun to be had. Great for getting loosened up, but once you quickly work up to the largest bulge, better have something else larger on hand to continue. Love the circular base for ease of grabbing when hands are covered in lube.

I got the small as my first anal toy. It feels great, but I think it is a little to small, even for a beginer like me. I also found that it doesn't stay in on its own, the last bead is pretty much the same width as the shaft at the base. I got the larger version and love it. It still has the problem of not staying in on its own, but this isn't a big deal. Also, the difference in size between the tip and base it great. It is small enough to slide in easily at the start, but big enough to give a filled up feeling when it is all the way in. My only complaint about the big version is that it is a little long. Depending on my position I sometimes find I run out of depth before I get to the base of the toy.
