Our Purpose
At Venus Envy, we make it our mission to help people know themselves better and explore their own pleasure. We do this by offering shame-free sex education, and by celebrating the vast diversity of sexual experience. As long as it’s consensual, we’re cheerleaders and supporters of all manners of desire.
Our Community
We owe so much to our community, and we make it a priority to share the love. We regularly donate to causes that align with our values, and we also run a pay-it-forward program for binders and gaffs.
Our Values
For sex education to be truly inclusive, we know that it needs to be feminist, anti-racist, and queer + trans-positive. These values are central at Venus Envy, and they guide our decisions about everything from the words we use to the products we sell. As we advocate for sexual and reproductive justice, we fight against all other injustices. Because we believe that everyone has the right to accurate information, shame-free exploration and consensual pleasure.
Our History
We were first established in 1998, as a retail store in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our web store came soon after, along with a second location in Ottawa from 2001 to 2026.
Since then, both the online store and our brick and mortar shop have grown significantly to support our communities, delighting pleasure enthusiasts across North America.
