How It Works
The Diva Cup works by collecting blood, rather than absorbing it like tampons, so it doesn't cause dryness or change the pH balance of the vagina
Sizing: According to Diva Cup, Model 0 is made for people who are under 18; Model 1 is best suited for those who are between 19-30 and/or who have a medium menstrual flow; and Model 2 is best suited for those who are over 30 and/or who have a heavy flow. As far as we can tell, 30 is a mostly arbitrary age cut-off, but your menstrual flow and pelvic width might be a better marker. As always, you know your body best.
To insert the cup, fold the sides and insert in your vagina. It's best to do this in a position where you're as relaxed as possible. Once the Diva Cup is fully inside you, grip the base of the cup and turn it slightly in either direction - this creates a seal to prevent leaks. To remove, pinch the base of the cup and pull down gently until you are able to take it out (pulling on an angle may help). Make sure to keep squeezing the base until it's all the way out, so that it doesn't pop open unexpectedly. We'd recommend trying this a couple times when you're not menstruating, just to get used to the process!

Care Instructions
To clean, simply wash with hot soapy water. The Diva Cup can also be boiled after or before your period for extra cleanliness. If removing in a public bathroom, simply dump contents into the toilet, wipe out with toilet paper, and re-insert. Store in the included bag.
The lifespan of your menstrual cup may vary, depending on vaginal pH, how often and how well your cup is cleansed, what cleansing agents are used, etc. The manufacturer's suggestion is that a Diva Cup can last up to 5 years, but it is ultimately up to the consumer to decide when to replace their cup. Please note that discolouration of the Diva Cup is normal.
