  • Pre-paid registration is required: please register online or contact us at the store.
  • Our workshops are 18+ unless otherwise specified. By registering for a workshop, attendees acknowledge that they are 18 year or older.
  • All workshops are offered on a sliding scale pricing system. Please choose which pricing options works best for you and your financial situation.
  • Workshops are held online or at Venus Envy Halifax (1727 Barrington Street) unless specified otherwise.
  • In the event of low registration in-person, but higher registration online, hybrid workshops may be changed to be fully virtual.
  • ASL interpretation is available upon request, please contact rachele@venusenvy.ca
  • In the event of very low registration numbers (under 3 in total), workshops may be cancelled and the option for a refund or registration to another workshop will be offered instead.

ACCESS NOTES

  • In-person workshops are mask-mandatory for participants. Presenters and facilitators may be maskless, but will have arranged covid-precautions and planning with the workshop coordinator ahead of time.
  • At the moment our front door must be opened manually, for assistance in entry, please ring the doorbell against the window to the right of the door. A Venus Envy staff will be happy to assist with entry.
  • The door itself is made of wood and is about a light-medium heaviness, and has a hydraulic mechanism that shuts the door automatically.
  • The door opens into the shop and the door handle is on the right side of the door when you are coming from the outside.
  • There is a ramp to get into the shop, and where the ramp meets the doorframe there is a 3/4 inch lip, and then a second 2 inch lip before the floor smoothes out.
  • We have a public-use washroom available towards the back of the store, that we are currently working on to make more accessible.
  • Currently, the light switch is about 47 inches from the ground, and there is a grab bar installed to the left of the toilet.
  • The washroom is quite wide, leaving lots of room for moving about the space.
  • The sink in the washroom right now does not have space underneath to allow for driving under, but we are working to replace this with a more appropriate sink. We are also working to add a grab bar to the back of the toilet.
  • The toilet is taller than average, with a seat at about 18.5 inches off the ground.
  • The door of the washroom is manual but light, and stays open without being pushed or pulled.

For any questions or concerns about accessibility of workshops, please email our education coordinator Rachele - rachele@venusenvy.ca
