Mostly we're keeping to our regular shipping schedule, and getting things processed and shipped out quickly! However, we are working with a skeleton staff and receiving a higher volume of orders than usual (thank you, lovely customers!). It is occasionally taking us an extra day to process orders, especially if you order on a weekend. Additionally, Canada Post is experiencing an extremely high volume of packages, and there will likely be delays in shipping times.
Orders made by 12pm for same-day shipping in Ottawa will still be sent out that day.
Halifax Pick-Up and Delivery
If you would like local delivery or curb-side pick-up in Halifax, you should order directly from the Halifax store. All the details of how to do that are here.
Ottawa Same-Day Delivery
When ordering through the web store, same-day delivery is only available in Ottawa/Gatineau. Orders for same-day delivery must be placed by 12pm in order to ship out that day, otherwise you will receive your order the following business day.
Same-day delivery is available within Ottawa & Gatineau only. This includes Hull and Aylmer.
For same-day delivery in Ottawa, you must be at the address you've listed in order to accept your package. If you're not available to meet your package, you'll need to pay another $15 re-shipping fee for us to deliver the next day.
Shipping and Processing Times
Orders received by 9am Eastern time will be processed and shipped out on the same day. Orders received after 9am will be processed and shipped out on the next business day. Orders are not processed on holidays or weekends.
So, as an example: if you order at 8am on a Wednesday, your order will be packed and shipped that day. If you order at 11am on a Wednesday, your order will go out on Thursday.
Every order is shipped discreetly in a plain brown box. The shipper is listed as '9373616 Canada Inc.’ instead of Venus Envy, and the contents are not explicitly identified on the packing materials. All orders are shipped from Venus Envy in Ottawa, and the address of our Ottawa store is listed as our return address.
If you are ordering from the US, we're as discreet as we can be on the customs form. So, we might list a vibrator as a novelty, a lube as a personal lotion, and a dildo as a silicone sculpture.
Order Errors and Cancellations
We can cancel an order before it's shipped out, but once it's out of our hands it's considered final sale. If you'd like to cancel an order, please call us as soon as possible at 613-789-4646 or 1-877-370-9288 (toll-free). Please do not email us to cancel an order - it is very likely that we will not see the email before your package is sent.
If you make an error when putting in your address, please get in touch with us as soon as you notice! There's very little we can do to correct an address once it has left our location.
If we have already processed and packed your order, but not yet sent it out, we will cancel the order but you will be charged a $15 re-stocking fee. Please understand that we put a lot of love, energy and time into packing every single order: we make sure the toys are working, we wrap your items in pretty paper, we include care instructions and informational pamphlets. It's important to us that every order feels like a gift, but it takes a lot of time to do this! The $15 fee is there to compensate us for this effort.
Shipping Times in Canada
We ship with Canada Post, using Expedited and Priority Service.
Canada Post says that Expedited Parcels can be delivered regionally (for us, to Ontario or Quebec) in 1-3 business days and nationally in 2-7 business days. We suspect that this is true for cities, and are optimistic that this is true for small towns and rural addresses.
It's been our experience that this is unlikely for the capital-N North. Out-of the way folks can expect their parcels to take several days or more. Once we have processed your order, you'll receive an email with a tracking number so you can follow the delivery progress.
Shipping Times to the US
Expedited delivery to major centres in the continental USA takes approximately 5 to 10 business days, but vary a little depending on how long it takes a package to go through customs.
All these prices and amounts are in Canadian dollars. All the prices listed on our website are also in Canadian dollars.
The Fine Print
Shipping times are described in the approximate number of business days to reach a major centre. So weekends and holidays aren't included in those times. Storms, pandemics, and other natural (or unnatural) disasters are also not factored into shipping times. If something major and out of the ordinary should occur, it may take longer than usual to receive your package.
Once an order has left the store, we are not able to offer a refund. We promise all our customers that nothing has left the store before being sent to them, and we are deeply committed to keeping that promise. So, even if you change your mind, or fail to pick up your package, or put in the wrong address and it gets sent back to us, we will not be able to offer a refund.
If an order gets returned to us, we will happily send it back to you once you've paid an additional shipping fee of $10 for orders to Canada, $20 for orders to the US, or $40 for priority shipping across North America.
