How It Works
Lidocaine is a topical anaesthetic. Applied to skin, it temporarily quiets the nerve signals travelling from that area, so touch and friction register more softly. The effect is local, stays where you put it, and wears off on its own.
Spray 3 to 8 times onto the head and shaft. Wait 5-15 minutes until it has dried completely before making contact with a partner, since lidocaine transfers to skin it touches while still wet and a partner may feel the numbness too. Alternately, wearing a condom will prevent it rubbing off on a partner immediately.
Start with the smallest dose that works. Genital skin is thin and absorbs far more readily than skin elsewhere, so three sprays here does more than you might expect from how little it looks.
Test on your inner wrist first to check for a reaction before the first genital application.
Licensed by Health Canada as a non-prescription topical anaesthetic, DIN 01901532.
